Breast Enlargement - A Good Choice For Plenty of Women

Breast enlargement surgery has grown in popularity over the past 20 years as more women become aware of how much this surgery can improve their appearance and make them feel better about themselves. Today the options in breast implant surgery are tremendous.

Your first step towards improving the look of your chest is to do your research. Look for plastic surgeons that are accredited and qualified. Once you have a list drawn up then set up appointments for initial consultations with each one.

Breast enlargement by way of augmentation and implant surgery is the most superior way to improve the size and shape of your bosom. It can also go a long way in enhancing your overall shape.

The volume of the breasts as well as their shape can become altered because of any number of reasons (or combination of reasons). These include aging, weight gain or weight loss, pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, physical deformities or reconstructive treatment following a mastectomy.

Having a breast enhancement procedure can improve a body image that could use a boast. It can also give your body more dimension and better proportions. Breast enlargement will not transform your life but it will certainly help you to smile more when you get dressed and when you look in a mirror. It will also allow you to try fashions that you may have felt were not appropriate for you before.

Augmentation surgery is most often done as an out-patient procedure and can be performed either in a hospital or at the plastic surgeon's private clinic. Anesthesia is required to be given to the patient before the surgical procedure gets underway. Most of the time local anesthesia will be used, as well as intravenous sedation. This is decided upon on a case-by-case basis.

Some doctors may decide that it is in the best interests of their patients to use general anesthesia instead. Medications will be given to the patient to ensure comfort while the surgery is going on. Having implants put into your body will take approximately two to four hours to complete.

Once the breast enlargement operation is over, the patient will be moved into the recovery room and will be monitored closely by nurses. The bosom will be wrapped tightly in either a surgical bra or gauze dressing.

The surgical wrap can be removed after a couple days but then after that a sports bra that does not contain underwire must be worn for at least a month's time. As long as there were no complications during the operation the patient can go home after a few hours. The recuperation period will take anywhere from one to two weeks.
