Menopause - Tips for Weight Loss

As many women enter either peri-menopause or approach menopause, it seems like our metabolism slows down to a crawl, couple this with our complicated lifestyles and work related stresses, our whole system becomes thrown out of balance.

Past dieting methods that might have worked for you before are no longer affective and may lead to yo-yo dieting which in turns leads to hormonal imbalance which is one of the causes that leads us to gain weight. Getting your hormones in-balance may take some time and require a medical check-up to determine your what your hormonal balance should be.

Gaining control means GETTING HEALTHY! These weight loss tips will assist you in making the transition more smoothly:

* Following a eating plan that includes protein 2-3 times a day
* Eat Low carbs
* Very little to no processed food
* Lots of fruit and vegetables
* Drink plenty of water
* Avoid diet colas (you will be surprised how much this will help and not just with your weight loss)
* Exercise (walk everyday if possible or at least 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes plus)
* Make time for fun.

If you are finding that you need a place to start the first thing to do is stop DIETING... Start Eating... and Start Living!

Menopause is no reason to accept the fact that you are going to gain weight no matter what you do-in fact being proactive with your nutrition and lifestyle will certainly make this transition time one in which you discover the best in yourself.
