Breast Implant Risks and Side Effects

More and more women are trying to gain the perfect figure by getting breast augmentation surgery. If you are considering the procedure, make sure you understand all the risks and side effects before the surgery.

When thinking about the ideal candidate for breast implants, most doctors agree that the procedure is fine for women between the ages of eighteen and fifty.

However, more women are choosing to get the procedure while in their teen years, even though the Food and Drug Administration does not recommend this process this early.

Most women who get the procedure are between 20 and 35. However many women in their twenties may not be fully developed, which can lead to stretch marks and sagging later on.

Many doctors also suggest that women wait until after childbirth because implants can affect a women's ability to breast feed their child.

Also, the size of the breasts can change after pregnancy which can lead to premature sagging. Most doctors claim that the ideal age to undergo breast augmentation is between 35 and 50 because many are past childbearing days. Also women in these age groups can fully understand the risks and side effects better.

There are several other risks and side effects that women of all ages should understand. If you are not in good health, then you should avoid getting the procedure.

This means that if you smoke, then you should either quit before the procedure or consider putting off the operation altogether.

Also if you have a disease such as diabetes or cancer then you should consult a doctor to see if you could withstand the risks and the side effects. It will take a while for you to heal after the surgery.

This means that if you cannot spare a few weeks to recover, then it is better that you consider putting off the surgical operation.

You have to prepare yourself for some bruising and some risk of infection. You can also expect some uncomfortable swelling around the affected area.

Make sure you go to a doctor who you can trust. Always ask the doctor to explain to you the risks and side effects associated with the surgery.

Breast implants can be great as long as you understand all of the risks and side effects. If you are within the ideal age and are in relatively good health, then you could be a good candidate for the procedure.
