In the big scheme of things, small insignificant words but powerful consequences.
You spend the next three decades dealing with the demons of trying to get on top of your self image, esteem issues, reading all those self help books, positive affirmations, attending courses, but nothing seems to work.
Even when you gain the approval of your peers and by standers who compliment you "you have great legs", it doesn't sink in, you remain flippant about any flattering remarks.
Then one day you're in a social situation when a "barbie" wannabe struts in the door, her presence captures your attention as you admire in awe her appearance.
Fine sculpted body, glowing with a recent tan, cascading, glossy bottle blonde hair, Hollywood style voluptuous, pouting lips, perfect symmetrical button nose, flawless, shimmering skin, all finished off with a sexy to die for little black dress.
You turn to the men next to you expecting them to be experiencing massive surges of blood to their extremities, but to your astonishment they are continuing with their conversations and drinks without even batting an eyelid. The momentary glace was all that they offered the new arrival.
Slightly perplexed you inquire to their lack of interest, the reply, "Beauty comes from within, and you are more beautiful than she is".
