Keeping Yourself Safe While Driving at Night

Women nowadays drive a lot, especially at night. You wouldn't know when an attack might happen so they should follow these safety measures when driving alone at night. Self defense weapons such as mace, stun gun, and pepper spray is a woman's best friend.

Make sure the roads you take are the populated ones, and avoid roads that are secluded, as this is the preferred site of attackers.

The thing you may want to avoid most is letting the attackers inside your car. So lock those doors and keep those windows rolled up. When at an intersection be cautious of your surroundings.

This is the best time for the attackers to jump out of nowhere and try to enter your car. Observe passing motorists, they could be warning you that someone is trying to get into your vehicle. If your car has an installed anti-theft security alarm remember to switch it on upon leaving the car.

Parking near the building's entrance is highly suggested. Also avoid spots that are dark, park somewhere people will be able to see you.

Huge vehicles, windowless vans, van with tinted windows, you should be cautious of these vehicles. These are the vehicles used to kidnap or abduct people. People won't be able to spot and help you if you get abducted using these vehicles.

If you don't want your car to get stolen, then don't give the thieves a reason to do so. Do not leave your car running. If you leave your engine on, it'd be easy for the thieves to steal it. Always lock your doors. Children should not be left inside the car. This would make the prone to being kidnapped.

Emergency kits are a must inside every vehicle. To call for help, a two-way radio would be useful.

Having a flashlight inside your trunk is extremely valuable, if the attacker manages to throw you into the trunk, use the flashlight to locate the taillights so you could kick it off and scream for help. You could also stick your hand out for motorists to see.

Safety and security must always be planned before leaving to drive at night. You'll never know when this tips might come in handy but it's better than falling victim to an attack you could have easily avoided.
