Indian Bridal Jewelry

Jewelry is an essential part of any woman's dream wedding, especially Indian women brides. From top to bottom, Indian brides are ornamented with earrings and nose rings, necklaces and pendants, dangling bracelets or bangles, and yes that includes the jingling anklets.

It's not that hard to find the right accessories to pair with an Indian bridal dress such as a Sari, Salwar Kameez or Lehenga Choli because there are a variety of jewelries to choose from these days.

The most popular type of Indian bridal jewelry is the diamond decorated gold jewelry. The essential accessories for an Indian bride are the earrings, bracelets and the necklace. These jewelries are also made out of precious stones such as sapphires, pearls, rubies and emeralds, set in platinum, gold or silver.

A crucial aspect that determines what type of accessories or jewelry to choose is the bridal dress and its color. The accessories should complement the bride's bridal dress.

Most brides have two sets of jewelry. One is for the wedding day and the other set for the engagement party. The set of jewelry to be worn on the engagement party would certainly be of a lower degree compared to the one that would be worn on the most important day.

Indian bridal jewelry used for engagement parties would consist of a simpler and less heavy design and complemented with simple accessories such as earrings and bracelets.

Jewelries used by the bride on the wedding day are usually passed on from the elder members of the family or are custom-made especially for her. These jewelries are heavy and all the different accessories would be designed to complement each other.

Toe rings are also important because they are only worn by married women, so during wedding ceremony the toe rings would be put-on. These are worn on the toes of either foot in pairs.

Another important accessory is the Maangtika. It is used to adorn the forehead part of an Indian bride and is one of the most native jewel of the Indian culture and is now very popular for its traditional look and wonderful designs. The Maangtika in gold and diamonds are in-demand nowadays.

If you are planning to have a unique wedding and want to infuse your wedding with a spicy Indian twist, choose Indian bridal jewelries to accompany your beautiful wedding gown. You will certainly have a golden wedding that would imprint a memory worth telling to your future children.
