Selecting the Right CHI Iron For Your Hair

If you're thinking of using a CHI straightener to treat your hair, you should choose the right model to suit you. There are several factors to consider when selecting which among the models of CHI hair straighteners will work best for you. Read on for a discussion of the various considerations you need to make when choosing the right CHI iron.

Consider the type and length of your hair. You could have normal, coarse, or thin or fine hair type. Your hair type will determine the plate size. The coarser your hair is, the thicker the CHI straightener iron plate. As for the length of the hair, the longer your hair is, the bigger plate size should be chosen. This would allow a greater part of the hair to be ironed with in one time.

Temperature adjustment is another feature that your CHI iron should have. Although CHI flat irons produce heat evenly, you still need to adjust the temperature once in a while. Your hair type will also determine the amount of temperature that you should be applying to your hair. The coarser your hair strands are, the greater the amount of heat required to iron that out.

Hair that has already been treated and dyed tends to be also more brittle and finer. Lesser amount of heat should be applied to hair with this condition. Knowing and applying the right amount of heat will help you avoid damage to your hair and scalp.

Convenience in use should also be considered. Normal Farouk CHI flat irons have a cord that connects the iron to the power outlets. Your hair iron should have a swivel kind of cord so that you can move more freely. With regards to the weight, make sure it is light so that you would not stress your arms much.

If you have long hair, it would take time for you to complete the process. And, even if you have short hair, it would be better to opt for a lighter hair iron. The grip or handle also adds to the convenience of the hair iron.

A good grip will enable you to use the hair iron better, style the hair better, and avoid the iron from falling off and getting yourself burned. If your hands are sweaty, you could choose a rubberized grip.

Know the status of your hair when you use the iron. Do you use it right after shower when your hair is still damp? Or do you blow dry it first, and then iron it? If your usage is unpredictable, choose the CHI hair iron that is both for wet and dry hair.

If you often use the hair iron on wet hair, choose a CHI flat iron that has a vent for excess water so that you would not get electrocuted.

If you often go traveling, you need a very handy, light, and easy-to-store CHI hair iron. If possible, select one that has the less bulky cords. Also, see to it that connection to a power outlet is made easier. It also has to have a thermal pouch, which allows your iron to cool off easily so it can be stored right after usage.

Lastly, if you want greater shine-producing hair iron, you could choose the steam type of hair iron. This is an addition to a normal CHI straightener iron's feature of smoothing out your hair.
